• How We Work

  • The CSR Association of Pakistan promotes CSR principles and practices to businesses in Pakistan encouraging best practice exchange, collaboration and smart alliances. Putsimply, we encourage not enforce.

By enabling organisations to link together and forge partnerships, we help make businesses more competitive, supporting operational efficiency gains; improved risk management; favourable relations with the investment community and improved access to capital all in parallel to enhanced employee relations; stronger relationships with communities and improved reputation and branding.

Corporate social responsibility is a concept with a growing currency within Pakistan and around the globe. In our approach we’re encouraging business that do to go beyond csr and those that don’t quite get it to do a little bit for a better Pakistan. We’ve seen this concept resonating with organisations with sophisticated csr functions and with those that as simply starting on a journey of doing something.

We’ve seen that frequently, there’s overlap with similar approaches such as corporate sustainability, corporate sustainable development, corporate responsibility, and corporate citizenship and individual charity.

While CSR does not have a universal definition, many see it as the private sector’s way of integrating the economic, social, and environmental imperatives of their activities. As such, CSR closely resembles the business pursuit of sustainable development and the triple bottom line. So we have been working with organisations at both ends of the spectrum to integrate a responsible attitude into corporate structures and processes.

CSR also frequently involves creating innovative and proactive solutions to societal and environmental challenges, as well as collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to improve CSR performance and we’ve been part of some pretty dynamic partnership developments in the past 18 months.

    Walk the talk

The Association’s values commit us to ‘act with integrity’. Central to this is practicing what we preach – demonstrating to internal and external audiences our commitment to responsible business practices.

  •  Year Ahead:

In 2015 we will continue to build scale and impact in our current operations while undertaking some key developments for the longer term. Our priorities are:

To mobilise more businesses to integrate responsible business practice and to take action for people and planet – focusing on employability, skills and employee engagement; and increasing the reach and impact.

We shall also concentrate efforts to grow and engage our membership, Pakistan and internationally by demonstrating the value and measurable impact of the Association.

To develop our Partnerships Office, providing full service support and advisory to organisation looking into forming partnerships and alliances.

To research and communicate the impact achieved by business and engage our business leadership as champions for responsible and sustainable businesses.

To create a shared vision of a sustainable future. In collaboration with our members and key partners, and develop a "roadmap" for business to help achieve this.
